If you have taken time to visit our Educational Services page, in which we describe the free support, you have heard that we can empower clients to explore where they should stand toward tens of thousands of online degrees from hundreds of accredited colleges and universities nationwide. IN addition, we provide clients with access to our student support website, SOCRATES, which has hundreds of semester hours of tuition-free courses that can be used to earn a degree quickly and at a fraction of the usual cost. How do we make this available to our clients free of cost? Because Tim is the founder & CEO of HERC & Mission: Degree!, a 501c3 nonprofit organization. So, if you notice textbooks on the shelfs on the desk as you enter the waiting room, those are available for checkout by clients, should they desire to take one of those subjects through SOCRATES. Keep in mind, with more than 150 subjects available, we only have a small portion covered with the textbooks donated. If you use the links on SOCRATES to purchase textbooks for a course you are taking online and would like to donate it so others may use it in the future, just leave it on the desk for others to benefit.
You may notice all the U.S. Coast Guard memorabilia when you walk into the Watiting Room. Not only is Tim the founder & CEO of the educational service organizations mentioned above, but, because he is a retired USCG Lieutenant Commander and Search & Rescue pilot, he decided to help out the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary in East Tennessee. There are actually nearly 150 volunteers serving in the USCG Auxiliary in this area and Tim is the Flotilla Commander for the Knoxville Flotilla. In addition, he is the Branch Chief of Human Resources for the 8th District, the 26 states in the middle of the U.S. So, if you have time on your hands and desire to serve in the volunteer sector of the U.S. Coast Guard, let Tim know and he will gladly explain the myriad of missions that we participate in to help our communities.
