Veteran or Military-Focused Counseling

(A Brief Description of Services We Provide)

Hostile Fire Areas = Extreme Trauma

Over the past two decadea, millions of soldiers, sailors, airmen, and Marines have served our nation in hostile fire areas around the world. Military members also often place their lives in harms way in the performance of their missions. Military members who served in hostile fire zones such as Iraq and Afghanistan are constantly on the alert, as they know an improvised explosive device may be just around the corner, a suicide bomber may casually stroll up to them with a smile on his face, a sniper may be on any given rooftop, or a herder that appears friendly may uncover a shoulder fired rocket propelled grenade without warning. These stressful times take their toll on servicemembers, as is seen in the high number that must receive post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) related treatment upon return from the war zones. Sometimes military members return to the U.S. and find themselves reliving events of the past, tensing up when they hear sounds that remind them of the dangerous land that they previously served, or reacting to minor issues with extreme responses.
