Counseling If you have a navigation system in your car, our address is 5401 Kingston Pike, Suite 400, Knoxville, TN 37919. There are directions at the end of the email that we send to each client when we set up appointments, as well, but let's make this easy for you:
From I-40, take the Papermill Drive exit. Then follow Northshore down to the first big intersection, which is Kingston Pike (there is a light for a shopping center first, but Kingston Pike is the first big intersection). Turn left (Eastbound) on Kingston Pike to travel toward downtown and go exactly a half mile.
As you see on the map above, you will pass by Beardon Elementary School on the left (we're about a block down the road from there). Then you will see the Cherokee Village Shopping Center (quite small) on the left just before the new Smart Bank Headquarters. That is where you turn left and go up the steep driveway as if you are going to Smart Bank.
However, once you start going up the steep driveway, you will see that there are two large buildings behind the Smart Bank - one on the left and one on the right. We are in the building on the right at the top of the hill, Building 2, Suite 400.
Don't pull in and park as soon as you see the sign saying Bldg 2, as shown in the image on the left. The nice shaddy parking spaces on the lower level of Bldg 2 are not for us. If you park there, you will have to walk up the hill to get to us, as there is no way to get to the upper level from inside the building.
So, just to the left of the flagpole, veer a little to the left and keep coming up to the very top of the steep driveway.
When you get to the top of the hill, make a shart right U-turn so that you can park in one of the first two spots on the right. They are marked Guest Parking - 2 Hour Limit. (There is usually at least one of those parking spots empty.)
After parking, go in the entrance door that is right in front of you. (If you have to park further up the hill, be sure to go into the entrance on the right side of the building, not the left.) When you enter the main entrance, our offices, Suite 400, are the first on the right. The sign on the door will say Counseling Connection Waiting Room. By the way, you are not required to wear a mask once you have entered our Waiting Room area, as explained on the home page of this site. So, to sum it all up, take a look at the arrows on this birds-eye view of our office complex:
If you are coming from downtown or the Alcoa Highway, follow Kingston Pike Westbound. You will pass through the swanky homes, then, when the shopping centers appear on both sides of the street, you're only a half mile from our office. You will see the big funeral home on the hill on the right, so just past it, turn up the steep drive way of the Smart Bank Headquarters and follow the rest of the instructions above (starting with the picture of the flag in front of our building.
If you are coming over from the municipal clinic, The Center, follow Loraine to the bottom of the hill, then turn left, Westbound. At the first stop light, turn left, then take the first right and you will be on Papermill Road. Follow it for a while until it crosses the Interstate, then at the light, turn left on Northshore (Southbound). Then follow the directions above.
