The easiest way is to call our Appointments line at Counseling Connection - (865) 214 - 7584. If you are not sure which clinician you would like to make an appointment with, speak with one of our administrative assistants. In some cases, the issues with which you seek assistance may be a factor in determining which clinics is best for your support. For others, the insurance provider that you use may be a determining factor, as the insurance companies decide which of our clinicians they elect to cover. Regardless, we are here to assist you. Don't delay. Call today!
Confidentiality is assured, as required by federal law. The answer to this question is addressed in detail in our Privacy page on this site. Federal law, specifically, Public Law 104-191, requires that the information discussed between our licensed clinicians and their clients be kept strictly confidential. In fact, we cannot discuss the information with anyone, including your primary care physician, without your written permission on a Consent of Release Form .
There is an exception to the privacy required by P.L. 104-191: When a client expresses an intention to cause harm to himself or herself or to cause harm to others. This intention includes a plan to cause harm and the means with which to carry out the plan. Understandably, when clients cross this "line in the sand," appropriate notification of others is necessary.
Not at all. We have a licensed clinicians with different types of professional licenses, including Licensed Professional Counselors and Licensed Clinical Social Workers. They have each received years of graduate level instruction relative to their profession. In addition, there are different clinical approaches, which we explain on our Individual Counseling page on this site. If the clinician's approach does not seem to be optimal for you, let our administrative staff know. Transitioning to another clinician is easier than you think.
Most of our clients are covered by an insurance plan (Dr. Scoggins accepts most insurance plans) or an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), most of which are accepted by both our clinicians. However, it is up to each insurance/EAP provider to approve clinicians. Check with our administrative support staff to see if your plan is accepted by the clinician of your choice. Also, many plans have co-pays associated with the coverage. We also offer a sliding fee scale that assures clients paying for the services from their own financial resources that they will be charges a reasonable amount appropriate for their income level and number of dependents. Our clinicians accept cash, personal checks, and major credit cards for clients to pay these co-pays, when applicable.
